Rheumatology consultation

The rheumatological examination is carried out by a specialist in the osteomioarticular system and is aimed at patients who present symptoms due to degenerative pathologies (arthrosis, osteoarthrosis) or inflammatory pathologies (connectivity and others with joint inflammation) in order to be able to formulate a correct diagnosis through a specific and accurate clinical diagnostic path. This process can take place through an initial visit and subsequently with monitoring the evolution of the pathology following the prescribed pharmacological treatment.

Bone Density Scan for the diagnosis and treatment of Oteoporosis

Bone Density Scan is a diagnostic exam which is carried out by using low density X-ray equipment and is used for the diagnosis of Osteoporosis. Our highly specialised Center, usually pairs the test with a Rheumatology evaluation of risk factors to identify fracture risks that can be caused by bone fragility. The exam is usually done on the two sites that are more likely to be affected by fractures which are lumbar and femoral tracts.

It allows you to diagnose osteopenia or osteoporosis and then undertake a pharmacological treatment capable of slowing down the process of bone loss, preventing the fracture complication

The exam is adviceable for menopausal women - both physiological or induced menopause - especially in the presence of risk factors. It can be suggested to male patients when risk factors are present.

Infiltration therapy

Joint infiltrations are a medical therapy, administered through the injection of a specific drug (anti-inflammatory, cortisone, local anesthetic or hyaluronic acid solution) inside one or more joints. Their purpose is to limit pain and inflammation of the injured part. Joint infiltration therapy promotes pain reduction and improves joint mobility.

Joints Ultrasound

Osteoarticular ultrasound is a non-invasive exam that can be done multiple times as no radiations are involved and it is very easy to be carried out.

The examination is carried out using an ultrasound machine equipped with specific probes with certain frequencies, which allow, through the interposition of gel, the study of the chosen site.
